Have picked the ultimate team
GK -Squidge - Best keeper i've ever seen
LB - Nathan - good defender, and can play football at the back
CB - Goughy - natural reader of the game, good on ball
CB - Steve B - best player i've played with, great knowledge
RB - Dolan - football playing full back
RM - Fringy - Football purist, great at dead ball
CM - Shaggy - Dominant player when on form
CM - Jimmy G - after a slow start became Mr Solid and consistency
LM - Griff - All the ability in the world but not always the application
FOR - Fish - Lightning quick and hard to get ball off, could score too
FOR - Tommo - will say myself for the 49 goal season
Manager - Frosty - for being Mr Tamworth Castle
just off the list
TD - Monster tackler and throw ins, would have made list but don't think he's done 90 minutes for 5 years!
Precky - One for the future, needs a couple more years to join the legends
Mike - Same as Precky
Probably others but that'll do for now |

Really interesting to see peoples picks. Amazing how you all see players differently, but thats good. By the way my name isn't in any of the teams I wonder why |

This is my 9/10th season at the club and have seen many different players come and go (and comeback again Tommo!)
Peter Beardsley was a signed player and therfore one of the greats!
Grim and Dave O'Brian were banging in goals in the early days to lift the club out of those lower leagues and must be thanked for that!
Lets not forget other great players not mentioned who moved on or away but have been fantastic servants to our club thay might not of been around for the silverware but helped build the foundations.
Just think and don't laugh but how many goals did Rich Patterson score from left midfiled that season? Or how good a player was Simon Turner before he knackered his shoulder? Or even Woody? Passed from pillar to post but undoubtably one of our longest standing players who could get a start in most teams in the league!
Happy memories have made me proud to pull on that tangerine shirt most weeks for the last and hopefully the next 10 years.
As a great leader once said " We will fight them on the beaches and we will fight them at Buckingham Road"! |

TD absolutley spot on mate. Those players may not be classed as the greats of Tamworth Castle by some people, but Bobby, Damon, Simon Turner, Woody, Richy Patterson were all good players in there own right, and won silverware. I think a few of them deserve a little more credit than they are getting. I also think that a couple of those guys could grace our 1st team |

Tommo - Taxi to Birchmoor?
Slimjim - Perhaps you could buy me a beer at the gentlemans evening tonight and we can discuss the the points we agree on! |

The search for slim continues, who is this elusive man or woman At least he has given the forum a bit of life. Interesting to see peoples current starting team Frosty as it may upset a few or will people be tactful as we know their identity and keep people sweet. Slim you can be as unsubtle as you like as you are still a mystery |

Frosty - To put many rumours to bed, its is not I. I only found out about this forum on Friday and became a member today to join in the fun.
I will shortly post my best 11 and for reference was with/watching Griff and Shaggy play on Saturday.
So i guess the search continues !!!! |

Here's a new Topic for ya!!
Worst Howlers of Castle History.
Dave K setting up an equaliser for the opposition in a cup final!.
Garv from 3 yards out at Two Gates!.
Fringey in similar circumstances!.
Dolan Penalty at Coton Green.
Jimbob on sunday against Wood End.
Ben Dyer sent off for calling the ref a "Car Park Attendant" whilst he was wearing a hi vis vest to do a game once!!
Fringey for injury whilst standing on his own doing tricks with the ball on the sideline!
Ant for numerous O.G's!!
Pete Vale for standing and arguing with the rest of his team while play carried on around him (he was in goal at the time!)
Bobby for unpunished forearm smash at the lamb.
Pecker for continual lumber region trouble (pulled arse cheek)
Could go on all day but my shift finishes soon!
